Trip to Vegas & AVP First Tour at Hermosa Beach, what we ate Part I

This post is long overdue. It's been two months since the AVP Tour at Hermosa Beach. It's better late than never!

If you haven't watched the video on youtube yet, here it is.

A recap:

Where we stayed:

The Linq: They have rooms at a very reasonable rate and we were only staying for one night from our way to Hermosa Beach from Salt Lake City. I have lived in Vegas for 10 years before moving to Salt Lake City. Mike's son Kaden still lives there.

Pros:

The price: The rooms are very inexpensive.
The service: You can check into your room from a kiosk and don't have to wait in line. Just tip the bellhop and they can carry your bags up to the room. Everyone was very helpful and on point. Part of why I love coming back to Vegas.
The rooms: The rooms were nice and modern. The bathroom was modern was well.
The Promenade: The promenade was, by far, the best part about staying at the Linq. The outdoor shopping/restaurant/bar area with live entertainment was amazing and the weather was perfect.

Cons:

The layout: The layout of the casino was very confusing and it was hard to find the rooms.
The rooms: The rooms were tiny and the had very few amenities.
The crowd: The crowd was young. I guess we're old farts.
Valet: You have to pay now. I guess I'm spoiled. It's been within the last year that The Strip started charging for parking and valet. I guess not everything good can last forever.

Where we ate:

Veggie House:

Location: 5115 Spring Mountain Rd. Suite 203 Las Vegas, NV 89146
Cuisine: Vegan Chinese

Pros:
Delicious food: Everyone loved everything. Both of my friends who ate with us had never had vegan food before. They were both surprised. Especially good is the Mongolianw beef. Tasted just like the real thing. Plus, EVERYTHING was vegan!
Service: The service was pretty good and accommodating.

Cons: The service. While the service was very good, my water glass was empty for most of the time and we were very short on napkins.
Decor: Of course, we were in Chinatown. It almost comes with the territory. Plus, I'd rather pay for the food rather than the decor. But the decor was lacking. No one should have Christmas lights up in the middle of summer.

Don't you just love her bib?

Mike and me with baby Myles.

I just love him. He's so good with her!
We ordered lo mein, pad thai and Mongolian beef. Almost forgot we were eating vegan!
Of course, no meal is complete without dessert! Vegan strawberry cheesecake with green tea ice cream!
My friends Riano and Tina. Such a great time!

Where we drank:
Squeeze:
Locaton: The Promenade right at the Linq in Las Vegas
Website: https://www.caesars.com/linq/hotel/dining/squeeze#.WajJzMiGM2w

Pros:
The drinks: Delicious freshly squeezed juices paired with delicious spirits. They were not shy about the pours either!
The atmosphere: Located in the heart of the Promenade, the entertainment and the crowd was awesome!

Cons:
The price: The prices were a little steep but that's the Vegas strip for ya!

Mike ordering drinks at the Squeeze. We both had a double!

Beautiful night at the Promenade in Vegas!

In the end, it was good to stop in Vegas for just one night. The town is so vegan friendly and the weather was perfect. Plus the town never sleeps so we were promptly in bed by 2 am. Haha. What can I say. We can't party like we used to. If you're ever in town, my advise is to skip the Linq and give the Promenade a try. And Veggie house was definitely a must try!

There are vegan restaurants in nearly every neighborhood in Vegas. Don't forget all those little hidden gems, especially in Chinatown.

Peace, love and abundance!
